The C33s ‘Resurrect’ New Single

The C33s are the rum to my coke. The gin to my tonic. The middle finger to…well everyone. They are the gross piece of a punk rock pizza and after hearing this track, I’ll be asking for seconds.

The C33s trashy punk attitude has been regurgitated into the form of new single, ‘Resurrection Men’ and is out tomorrow on These Bloody Thieves records.

Prepare for slime and punishment as the Manchester alt/punk rock trio channel teenage angst that is now probably more common in young adults given the frustration that is carried through into our later years. The gritty track is the band’s third single following ‘Manic Depression’ and ‘Big Winner’ (which was also produced by Gavin Monaghan at Magic Garden Studios). The band follow in a similar direction to Blackwaters however, the vocal layer and manic screaming from drummer Judy Jones (who also did the single’s artwork) bring with it a crunchier edge and add a cool dynamic on top of guitarist, Cav Green’s leading vocals.

Green also harbours a surf-style twang to his guitar technique which brings a more interesting finish within their punk rock assertiveness. The trio transport hints of The B52s along with them for the ride and the single sleazily winks at The Cramps whilst concealing comparable qualities. 

Prepare for a C33s bombshell to hit you on its way through. These guys are here to make one hell of a mess and sound pretty fucking cool whilst doing it.
