Children of The State Release New Single

Doncaster/Bolsover quintet, Children of the State take us to the beach with their gorgeously crafted new single 'Big Sur' out Friday 10th April. The sun-kissed, anthemic track sits equidistant between the glam rock of the 70s and the sunny nostalgia of the 60s.

Recorded in Liverpool's iconic Par Street Studios and produced by The Coral's James Skelly, the track replicates Alex Turner's unique style of the doo-wop vocal melody and happily adopts his 'Suck it and See' style and approach. The care-free song displays Beach Boys and Springsteen influences with a modern twist layered with polished guitars and a steady beat.

Beginning with a distorted organ intro, a wave of certainty and a Beatles similarity that matches that of The Magic Gang's, the indie rock outfit have no trouble transporting you to a beach scene with their coastal tune.

To be enjoyed with a drink in hand and sand between your toes.
