A Night of Ska: Chainska Brassika // The Joiners
A Night of Ska: Chainska Brassika // The Joiners
Well known for
regularly opening for ska legends Madness, London 8-piece, Chainska Brassika bring
their mischievous horn-driven ska anthems to The Joiners, Southampton.
The hypersonic pace
of their flavoursome melodies creates an unforgettable experience that replicates
the polished precision that is found on their albums. The venue is packed, and
everyone is incapable of standing still as the reggae and dub influenced ska
gets everyone up on their feet. Ending the set on crowd-favourite ‘Bad Habits’,
the octet showcase what they are capable of. With enthusiasm and talent levels
that are through the roof, it comes as no surprise when the room keeps bouncing
from start to finish.
Some bands are
designed for festivals and Chainska Brassika are one of those groups. However,
it takes a great band to be able to
bring that festival feeling to a cold, November night; Chainska Brassika did
just that. They did everything right tonight. The fast pace was maintained from
beginning to end as they leave the crowd begging for more.
